Ripton’s sensor technology, mounted on aluminum truss arches, helped provide people flow insights during Shelton’s Independence Day celebration.
July 3, 2025 – Ripton Community Broadband was honored to partner with the City of Shelton for the city’s Independence Day fireworks celebration on July 3rd, 2025. This beloved annual tradition brought together families, friends, and neighbors for a night of music, food, and fireworks over the Housatonic.
In addition to enjoying the festivities, the Ripton Community Broadband team supported the city by providing people flow insights throughout the evening. Using sophisticated sensors mounted on aluminum truss arches and powered by Ripton’s own wireless internet network, Ripton helped track the amount of attendees that came and went, as well as how the crowd moved around key activities, such as the live concert, and during the brief rain shower.
These insights will assist the city in planning future events to be even smoother, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone.
